Learn While You Shoot
There is something special about spending time in a landscape you know well—understanding how the light moves through it, how it changes with the weather and when to simply stop and wait.
Join me for a personal photography session at one of my favourite locations in the South West, where we’ll spend time exploring the landscape, watching the light and making photographs together.
Designed for two or three people, these sessions are about learning through experience. Rather than concentrating heavily on camera settings, I’ll share the way I approach a location—how I look at the landscape, recognise the possibilities within a scene and use light, composition and timing to shape the photographs I make.
We’ll walk, observe and shoot together. I’ll help you look beyond the obvious, refine your compositions and become more confident in deciding where to stand, what to include and, just as importantly, when to press the shutter.
Because these are places I know and photograph myself, I can share more than simply where to take a photograph. I can share my understanding of the location—how I read the light, respond to changing conditions and find photographs as the landscape reveals itself.
There is no set formula and no pressure to keep up with a group. Bring a friend and enjoy an experience that is personal and shaped around your photography, your questions and what you want to learn.

Learn While You Shoot
Photography is best learned with a camera in your hands, the landscape in front of you and the time to really look.
My Learn While You Shoot sessions are relaxed, practical two-hour photography experiences held on location along the Perth coast. Designed for one or two people, each session gives you personal guidance while we explore the changing light, the landscape and the photographic opportunities around us.
Rather than concentrating heavily on camera settings, I’ll help you develop a better understanding of light, observation, composition and timing—learning to recognise what makes a photograph work and how to make stronger choices before you press the shutter.
We’ll shoot together, discuss what we see and explore different ways of approaching the same scene. I’ll help you understand how light shapes the landscape, how composition can guide the viewer through an image, and how patience and timing can transform an ordinary moment into something worth photographing.
There is no set formula and no pressure to keep up with a group. The session is shaped around you, your photography and what you want to improve.
Whether you are still finding your way with photography or simply want to see the landscape with fresh eyes, these sessions are about building confidence and helping you become more thoughtful and instinctive behind the camera.
